Hair Follicle Pulled Out

What is a hair follicle?

Hair follicles are tiny structures within your skin that produce and grow hair. When hair is pulled out without damaging the follicle, normal growth should occur. However, repeated pulling can damage the follicles, leading to slower or stopped growth.

How does a hair follicle grow hair?

hair follicles are responsible for producing keratin hair, which forms our locks. They are located at the outermost layer of the skin and receive color from melanin pigments. Hair follicles go through three growth phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen. Anagen is the growth phase, lasting two to seven years, during which the follicle grows approximately one centimeter each month. After anagen, the follicle enters the catagen phase for several weeks before transitioning into the restful telogen phase, where hair sheds from its original roots while stem cells regenerate new ones and begin their own cycle of hair production.
