Haircut Guide Tool

The hair-cutting guide tool is an indispensable device that enables precise lines. Additionally, it teaches fade or taper haircut techniques and gives you confidence when giving a great haircut.

Skip guard fading

Skip guard fading is a method that uses an attachment comb on a Wahl clipper to provide a guideline when cutting hair, known as skip guard fading.

Neckline Guide

The neckline guide feature can be helpful when creating a fade or taper haircut since it helps with necklines and blends. While initially it might take some practice to master this feature, once you do, it is very intuitive, just like using a ruler in school! It also works great for creating skip guard fades; follow the same process with the attachment comb and clipper: first create your initial guide line, then return with different guard sizes until all guides have been made (I start with 1(1/8) followed by speed o guide 0 before creating 2(1/4) which then blends ridge areas into 3(3/8) on top.

Forehead Guide

A forehead guide is essential when cutting fade or taper haircuts, helping create a straight line across the forehead and ensuring not to dip too low when making initial guidelines. Furthermore, it aids in blending the ridge section into a 3 (3/8) on top. This method of fade cutting can significantly benefit when performing skip guard fading procedures wherein guard sizes up are first used before going back down with smaller guard sizes to blend into previous guidelines more seamlessly.

Example of 1(1/8) on bottom and 3(3/8) on top skip guard fading hairstyle using Wahl clipper attachment comb 1(1/8) lever closed; use speed to guide 0 line of demarcation on forehead before opening 2(1/4) guard lever slightly and cutting slightly above where your first line was made using scalp guide.
