Discover the Different Types of Hair

Genetics determine your hair texture: straight, wavy, curly, or coily. Knowing yours allows you to identify the optimal ways of caring for and styling it.

Straight hair (Type 1)

Straight hair tends to be refined and dry with an easily manageable “S” wave that makes it simple to straighten. Those with fine or thin tresses should avoid heavy products that weigh them down and weigh down their locks.

Wavy Hair

You have a wavy hair type if your strands fall between poker straight and curly, with more waviness than straightness. Wavy hairstyles are easy to manage and require less upkeep. For added dimension, try color fading your waves using warm caramel balayage. Maintain neat edges by pairing your locks with a fade haircut.

Curly Hair

Curly hair takes on various curved shapes ranging from springs, waves, and corkscrews. It tends to get dry more quickly and requires rich, moisturizing care more frequently than straighter styles. There are different categories for curly hair classification, each with individual characteristics.

Coily Hair

Coily hair falls between 4A to 4C hair types. It is recognized for its tight and defined coils that resemble curls and have the appearance of letter Z shapes. Coily hair requires constant hydration and maintenance to remain soft and shiny. Regular trims are necessary to avoid split ends and encourage healthy growth.
