How a hair Beret is Made

Handmade

Handmade hair barrettes and clips involve many steps when being made by hand. This process ensures that each barrette is silky smooth to the touch and free from sharp edges. Unlike machine-made barrettes, handmade ones do not have visible injection mold marks. Additionally, our handmade clips use biodegradable and skin-friendly materials, making them ideal for individuals with sensitive scalps. These clips are perfect for both informal and formal ensembles, and they are great for keeping larger sections of hair in place. You can also pair them with various types of berets to create unique styles.

Machine made

hair berets are created using a machine designed specifically for producing plastic parts in different colors. Machine-made berets may have thicker varnish coatings and can show marks or scratches more easily. The colors on machine-made berets are applied through spraying, which could result in faster color fading over time.

General polishing

Regardless of whether they are handmade or machine-made, hair barrettes go through multiple polishing steps before being finished. Each beret goes through up to 10 stages of polishing to achieve the ideal shape and smooth surface without sharp edges. We use a specific polishing compound that is gentle on hair, ensuring that the edges of our barrettes are soft to the touch. This same compound is used for all our cellulose acetate accessories, such as gray tripoli, gray star, and white diamond polishing compounds.
